Whare Paetara — Wall House

“Although small in stature, Whare Paetara makes up for its size in its ideas.

One of its most notable features is the home’s large stone spine wall, which divides the shared spaces from the more private areas of the house. Acting as a backbone, it also splits the roof heights and has accommodating features, such as the mechanical heat recovery ventilation system and plenty of storage. The wall also allows for high-level windows, which provide natural cross ventilation and welcomes in the morning sunlight.”

Otahuhu Recreation and Youth Centre

The architect on this commercial build wanted a rustic stone profile that complimented the natural basalt already present on site. We think our High Country Boulder Stone Profile has done a great job in achieving that brief by using the Grey Rust colouring to highlight the wooden beams on the front of the building.
